Project Description

AMA is seeking a Simulations Software Developer candidate to add to our software development team in support of NASA AFRCís Simulation Engineering Branch. Simulation Engineering is focused on the research and development of real-time aircraft simulators for a variety experimental or modified research aircraft including the X-59 Low-Boom Flight Demonstrator. Successful candidates would be integrated with the existing software development team to aid in the design, development, testing, and deployment of software used in the various research activities. This work will include the design and development of graphics software and plotting tools.

Job Duties

This work will require the architecting software solutions and developing aircraft simulators to assist discipline engineers in defining and analyzing aircraft systems and comparing predicted system performance to flight test results. It includes the development and integration of software models, interfaces, synchronization, and characterization of data within a common data pipeline. This role requires strong software development skills using object-oriented design and development techniques. It also requires the ability to develop analysis tools and visualizations and custom object-oriented software. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter and innovative thinker capable of working closely within a small diverse team.

Job Requirements

BS Degree in Engineering or Physical Science and at least 7 years of experience or an Advanced Degree in Engineering or Physical Science and at least 4 years of experience
Software languages: C, C++, JAVA and Python on Windows and Linux platforms
Software development process tools including Git, Jira, and Confluence is a plus
Real-time operating system experience such as Real-time Linux is required
Experience in engineering modeling and/or analysis with computer programming of aircraft analytical models, simulations, and/or data processing is required.
Experience with graphics s/w coding or tools such as Visual Studios is required
Experience with full life cycle development required
Network communication protocols is a plus
Experience with GUI development is a plus
Strong oral and written communication skills will be required to document and showcase work
U.S. Citizenship is required.
