This individual will interact with a team of engineers, architects, designers, and project managers on government facility electrical systems design projects under direction of the Senior Electrical Engineer.
Major duties include:
Designing facility electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, grounding and lightning protection
Designing low voltage and medium voltage systems up to 15 KV
Performing electrical load and lighting calculations
Creating facility electrical system s design plans from engineering concepts
Prepare reports and construction documents; including specifications, plans, construction schedules and cost estimates
Analyzing code issues and recommending corrective actions
Using computer assisted engineering and design software prepare engineering design documents
Working with drafting personnel and engineering designers to develop electrical construction drawings
Developing construction drawings utilizing CATIA and AutoCAD MEP (Revit preferred)
Using Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word and AutoCAD
Performing other related duties as required
Job requirements and qualifications:
Bachelors degree in engineering discipline.
8+ years experience in electrical design which includes performing electrical calculations and equipment selection knowledge
Experience designing electrical projects using AutoCAD MEP (Revit preferred)
Experience using CATIA
Experience performing engineering tasks using design or engineering software and equipment.
Experience with facility construction means and methods
Experience with using the National Electrical Code and other NFPA documents
Registered Professional Engineer or EIT
Ability to obtain a secret clearance.
