Job Description

This role serves as a quality inspector in an aerospace and military defense machine shop, focusing on the inspection of precision-machined parts using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools to ensure they meet stringent quality and blueprint requirements.

Responsibilities
* Inspect incoming parts and components in a receiving inspector capacity to ensure they meet aerospace and military defense quality standards.
* Use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measurement tools to verify dimensions, tolerances, and overall part conformity.
* Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to confirm that parts meet specified requirements.
* Document inspection results accurately and clearly using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email as needed.
* Collaborate closely with the dedicated quality department and other departments in the machine shop to resolve quality issues and ensure consistent standards.
* Communicate effectively across departments to clarify requirements, report nonconformances, and support continuous improvement.
* Maintain a high level of attention to detail and follow established quality control procedures throughout the inspection process.
* Support the small team environment by sharing knowledge, assisting colleagues, and contributing to a positive, collaborative workplace.

Essential Skills
* At least 3 years of experience as a quality inspector in an aerospace company.
* Hands-on experience working in an aerospace or military defense machine shop environment.
* Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measurement tools for part inspection.
* Strong quality control and inspection skills, including the ability to identify defects and nonconformances.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
* Proficiency with Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email, for communication and documentation.
* Ability to communicate clearly and professionally across multiple departments.
* Proven ability to work effectively as a team player within a small team of approximately 68 people.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Experience inspecting components for aerospace and defense applications.
* Familiarity with structured quality control processes and procedures in a machine shop setting.
* Comfort working in a dedicated quality department while coordinating closely with production and other functions.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when recording inspection data and communicating results.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
