PMQS – Project Quality Management Quality Services is hiring experienced Shipfitters for an opportunity in Goose Creek, South Carolina.

Pay Rate: $45/hour
Per Diem: $120/day for qualified non-local candidates
Location: Goose Creek, SC
Shift: 2nd Shift – 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM EST

Position Description

Shipfitters will lay out, fit, align, and assemble prefabricated cast and forged components prior to welding, soldering, brazing, or bonding operations.

Responsibilities include straightening, grinding, deburring, drilling, reaming, and countersinking materials to close tolerances. Shipfitters will select and set up equipment, lay out materials for welding, and repair or rework parts as necessary to meet required tolerances.

Testing Requirements

• SMAW 3F and 4F plate test
• 3/8" thickness
• VT and Break

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years of prior shipyard experience
• Shipfitter/shipyard experience REQUIRED
• Experience with layout, fitting, alignment, and fabrication
• Must be able to work safely in a shipyard environment
