PMQS – Project Quality Management Quality Services is hiring experienced Structural Welders for a long-term opportunity in Goose Creek, South Carolina.

Pay Rate: $38/hour starting – $45/hour once the Pulse Arc Test is passed
Per Diem: $120/day for qualified non-local candidates
Location: Goose Creek, SC
Duration: 6+ years
Drug Test & Background Check: Required

Position Description

Structural Welders will perform welding processes on aluminum and steel parts and assemblies to required tolerances using welding metals and metal alloys.

Candidates will determine layouts and weld parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications and may monitor and verify quality in accordance with applicable control procedures.

Required Experience

• Must have applicable experience working in a shipyard within the past 3 years
• High School Diploma or equivalent plus 5 years of additional education and/or related experience

OR

• Apprenticeship graduate/Associate’s Degree in a relevant discipline plus 3 years of related experience
• Certification may be required

Welding Test Requirements

• Pulse – 2G, 3G & 4G plate test, 1" thickness with backgouge (VT & Side Bend)
• Spray – 2G plate test, Ύ" thickness (VT & Side Bend)
• FCAW – 2G, 3G & 4G plate test, Ύ" thickness with backing (VT & Side Bend)
• Ceramic backing tests
• UT testing on 1" thick T-joint plates with multiple stops and starts

Candidates receive multiple attempts on certain tests. Failure of the first two tests will result in disqualification. The ceramic test is one attempt but does not automatically disqualify the candidate.
