PMQS IS HIRING STRUCTURAL WELDERS (PULSE ARC) – $38–$45/HR + $120/DAY PER DIEM – NEWPORT NEWS, VA

Pay Rate: $38–$45/hour
Per Diem: $120/day for qualified non-local candidates
Location: Newport News, VA – Shipyard
Contract: 2 Years
Hair Follicle Drug Test: Required – 90-day lookback
Background & Employment Verification: Required

Required Experience
Minimum 4 years of NNS or naval shipyard experience as a First Class Welder
Must be experienced working in physically demanding shipyard environments, including shipboard areas, sub-assemblies, ladders, and staging
Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to the shipbuilding industry
Required Welding Skills
Multi-pass, all-position fillet and butt welding
SMAW – Shielded Metal Arc Welding
GMAW – Gas Metal Arc Welding
FCAW – Flux Cored Arc Welding
GMAW-P – Pulse Arc Welding
Oxygen/Propane Heating Torch
Air Carbon Arc Gouging
Proper use of fillet and butt weld gauges
Welding Qualification Requirements
All Structural Welders must successfully pass the required qualification testing prior to beginning productive work.

Testing includes:

SMAW – 2G, 3G & 4G
FCAW – 2G, 3G & 4G
GMAW – 2G
GMAW-P / Pulse Arc – 2G, 3G & 4G
Air Carbon Arc Gouging Proficiency Test
Visual Inspection of Welds Level I
Welder Vision Test
Candidates must successfully pass the required Newport News Welding School testing without training before performing work.
