PMQS – Project Management Quality Services

We are looking for experienced Shipfitters and Structural Fitters for long-term opportunities in Newport News, VA!

POSITION DETAILS

Pay: $45 per hour

Per Diem: $150 per day for eligible non-local candidates

Location: Newport News, VA

Contract Duration: 2 Years

Schedule: Shift flexibility required

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 4 years of structural fitting, steel fabrication, or related construction experience.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, sketches, and welding symbols.

Experience measuring, laying out, fitting, and assembling structural steel components.

Experience with oxygen/propane cutting and heating torches.

Proficiency with grinders, needle guns, and fabrication tools.

Experience with structural assemblies, foundations, bulkheads, decks, or similar steel structures.

Ability to perform SMAW tack welding.

REQUIRED TESTING

Tack Welding Qualification Test in the 3F (Vertical Up) and 4F (Overhead) positions.

Multi-Pass or Single-Pass Tack Welding qualifications, depending on classification.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must pass a background check and hair follicle drug test.

U.S. citizenship required by the client.
