~Currently seeking an GIS Analyst to participate in the design, build, test and deployment phases of the GIS Replacement Project. Communicate and travel between the Sunset Hills Office and other Ameren Offices, particularly the office in Columbia, MO, in a frequent manner during the GIS Replacement Project. Permanent position may be located in Columbia MO after the GIS Replacement Project.~
•Provide quality control with regard to data capture, data conversion and data evaluation.
•Provide support in the management and maintenance of GIS environments and applications.
•Manipulate and analyze GIS data to create information products or GIS customer requests.
•Develop and apply GIS solutions to meet customer requests.
•Work with GIS and IT resources to develop, maintain and enhance systems.
•Assist with setting GIS goals and objectives.
•Collect and organize data for visual representation.
•Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with GIS and related software.
•Assist in the development and delivery of training for system users.
•Subject to emergency call-out, including damage assessment/inspection during emergency storm restoration events with potential for considerable walking over rough terrain in all weather conditions
QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience special skills)
•Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in GIS, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Information Technology or related technical field required.
•Five or more years of GIS experience is required.
•A graduate degree (masters or doctoral degrees) in GIS or other closely related discipline may replace up to two years of experience (e.g., GIS, IT-related, Engineering, Geography, Forestry or other advanced degrees that contain significant GIS coursework, etc.).
•GISP certification preferred.
•Experience with ESRI based products is required.
•Experience in the Natural Gas Distribution industry strongly preferred.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate
•Proficiency with MS Windows and standard MS Office software required.
•Excellent administrative and organizational skills required.
•The ideal candidate must have proven problem solving skills as well as attention to detail.
•Effective communication in a team environment and exceptional interpersonal skills also required.
•Pay Rate: $34.00/hr.
•Duration: January 15, 2018 to July 1, 2018 (Permanent position may be located in Columbia MO after the GIS Replacement Project.)
