From an ICS perspective, the selected candidate will be required to perform the following duties: Develop, review and coordinate documents with suppliers, other disciplines and customers. Coordinates technical issues with Senior engineers. Proficient with basic engineering deliverables such as drawings, specifications, calculations, and Distributed
Control System (DCS)/Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) configurations. Knowledgeable of major regulations and industry codes and standards applicable to Instrumentation and Controls. Properly interprets and applies codes & standards and customer design requirements in the preparation of Control Systems design products. Responsibilities include the following: marking up Piping & Instrument Diagrams and Logic Diagrams for control and instrumentation requirements. Develops network architecture diagrams. Contributes to maintaining the project’s instrument database using automated tools and has knowledge of the applicability of information to be populated in the instrument database. Achieves work process improvement and promotes continuous work process improvement. The Engineer shall champion non-proprietary electronic data interchange and integrate automation technology where ever practical.
•BS degree from a U.S. accredited institution in Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Computer or Electro-Mech engineering with one year of related experience; or in lieu of education seven years of experience in Control Systems Engineering.
•Working knowledge of control systems hardware, software and network design (topology, block diagrams, etc)
•Working knowledge of knowledge of Logic Diagrams and Automation support for Plant Control Systems (DCS’s, PLC’s etc.).
•General knowledge of control system protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, DNP3, etc).
•Hands on Microsoft office programs, VISIO, and other computer programs.
•Willing to travel to job, customer and partner sites for meetings, assessments and deployments.
•Working knowledge and application of Codes and Standards.
•Excellent communication skills – oral and written.
•Candidate must possess the right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.
•Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
•Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.
•Working knowledge of one cybersecurity program standard (NIST SP 800-53, 800-82, ISO 27001, etc.)
•Working knowledge of deploying security controls to support security risk strategy
•Experience working with vendors control system software (Schneider, ABB, Emerson, Honeywell, Allen Bradley, etc.)
•Experience administering windows systems (active directory, user, policy, and log management)
