Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a System Analyst 4 opportunity for our customer in Los Alamos, NM to support the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).

Relocation available for those who qualify.

Work Location: 100% remote.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (5-8s) or 9/80s
Organization/Group: SAE-2 (9V020A)
Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain “Q.”

Education:
Position requires a post-graduate degree and/or expert level professional certification(s) and a minimum of twelve years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Summary:
Analyzes complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing; and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements. Designs details of automated systems. May provide consultation to users in the area of automated systems. May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues.

Has broad expertise or unique knowledge, uses skills to contribute to development of technical objectives and principles to achieve goals in creative and effective ways. Develops and/or implements advanced concepts, techniques, and standards based on professional principles and theories. Considered an expert in the field. Works on unusually significant, unique or complex issues, provides solutions that are highly creative and where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Has impact on success of future concepts, products or technologies. Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range targets. The Software and Applications Engineering (SAE) Division supports Los Alamos National Laboratory’s (LANL) enterprise applications and performs software application development support, database development and administration, software quality management, and enterprise application consulting. The Enterprise Business Software Group (SAE-2) provides custom application development, commercial off-the-shelf application implementation, database administration, and adoption/integration with Software as a Service solution. SAE-2 supports business processes for financial, personnel, procurement, and human resources IT systems.

Senior Denodo Platform Analyst
Working alongside some of the brightest minds, you will work with a team using agile development methodologies that support existing custom and COST applications. The selected candidates will work as a Senior Denodo Platform Analyst on IDS (Institutional Data Services) team in the Enterprise Business Software group (SAE-2) supporting the development and maintenance of the Denodo Platform.
A selected candidate will be responsible to:
• Develop and maintain Enterprise Data Catalog utilizing Denodo Platform
• Work directly with data owners to formulate, evaluate, and categorize data catalog.
• Understand and identify security data concerns.
• Understand and utilize LANL’s security requirements for data sharing and incorporating all needed measures in data description of Data Catalog.
• Create new and modify existing Denodo Data Catalog entries and descriptions per customer specifications as well as following.
• Develop and enforce data cataloging standards and best practices.
• Deliver progress reports to project leaders, sponsors, and help define project plans and milestones.
• Collaborate with customers and colleagues.
• Provide knowledge transfer to technical staff.

Minimum Job Requirements:
• Extensive knowledge and experience in reading and writing complex SQL queries.
• Extensive experience and expertise in creating Data Catalog utilizing Denodo Platform 8.x or newer.
• Knowledge and understanding of row/column level security in Denodo Platform 8.x.
• Ability to read, understand and map EBS SQL queries.
• Experience and extensive knowledge of data catalog best practices and data mapping of various data sources.
• Experience with designing and implementing complex data catalogs.
• Experience with mapping and documenting of data sources, data movement, interfaces, and analytics, with the goal of ensuring data traceability and cataloging.
• Should have good communication skills to interact with business users and work on enhancement requests.

Desired Qualifications:
• Knowledge of software development methodologies including Agile, Kanban, and Scrum.
• Experience working with Jira/Confluence tools.
