Hiring Commissioning Technician

Contract / Temp to Direct / Direct Hire: Contract

Basic Job Functions:
The candidate’s roles will be to interface within and across all business lines and departments as required to support the Commissioning & Testing group, verify installations and to ensure that best engineering applications are being applied and/or adhered to.
The candidate will assist all business lines and departments in Operational Analysis of data, Performance Analysis of data and communicate that analysis back to the internal or external supplier/vendor (as needed) to maximize and/or optimize the information.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Chief Duties: Support the Commissioning Site Manager and the Commissioning and Testing group as to best utilize the information to improve performance and profit margins.
Primary Tasks: Overall field support data in support of the Commissioning and Testing and Operational groups with regard to the electrical aspects of the Cx effort.
Vital Duties: Communicate to all internal teams the Lessons Learned from the Commissioning and Testing phase of the project life cycle and verify those Lessons learned are properly applied and installed within the design groups and embedded within the Warranty Exhibits contained in the Prime Contract Terms and Conditions.

Job Requirements
Candidate needs to be familiar with all aspects of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation and data acquisition systems (DAS) as they apply to the Solar Power industry and the Electrical Power Utility industry in general. Candidate must have an extensive knowledge of High Voltage, Low Voltage, A/C and D/C interconnecting electrical systems.
10 years of direct (hands-on) overall power utility experience
5-10 years of Electrical Testing and troubleshooting within the power utility industry
3-5 years of Commissioning & Testing experience within the power utility industry

Associates Degree or higher level degree in Electrical Engineering preferred

Required Skills:

Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs
Act in the capacity of a Field Technician for Commissioning & Testing and Warranty group
Able to read, analyze and interpret one-line electrical diagrams and drawings
Able to read and understand mechanical diagrams and drawings
Able to read, understand and analyze data from specific project Historians and interpret data as to allow Commissioning and Engineering teams vet issues/items as they arise
Able to analyze scope boundaries and scope specifications contained within an RFP/RFQ
Able to interface with all engineering groups disciplines and adequately communicate with those groups regarding issues, concerns or contentions as they apply to the Commissioning and Testing group.
