WORK CONTROL PLANNER
The individual in this position will utilize a broad knowledge of construction and maintenance fundamentals to write detailed work control procedures for complex mechanical/ piping and electrical work scope with complete understanding of principles, concepts, requirements and craft practices.
Responsible for coordination with Plant Engineering and Operations, subject matter experts, facility management and area crafts to plan, order materials and issue corrective, preventative and construction work in a safe expedient manner.
The individual will identify hazards and their mitigations (control sets) for work packages, assemble planning teams as appropriate to review work scope as part of the work order development, identify labor resources necessary to complete the task(s).identify initial conditions and prerequisites to support the work effort.
This person must understand and apply the principles of LO/TO necessary for work to proceed
Must understand and apply the principles of VPP, ISMS, and the integrated work control process.
Must complete the preparation and closure of work orders both preventative and corrective maintenance.
Responsible for resolution of issues arising from questions and problems identified during the work order development and implementation of change control
Works in accordance with approved training, policies, procedures, and instructions and in a safe manner.
Maintains assigned reading and required reading as required for the position.
Performs work in conformance with the Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS), Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) principles and functions, and Stop Work Authority.
Participates in the identification and resolution of health and safety issues through active involvement and support of company safety programs
Makes recommendations for innovative ideas or approaches to processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Assists in the preparation and review of procedures and other related documents, as applicable.
Provides support to cost savings initiatives, as applicable.
Responsible for completion of assigned training, qualifications/certifications, assigned reading, and required reading.
Ensures recurring training and qualifications/certifications remain current.
Must be well informed on the requirements and use of PPE and worker safety practices.
Position requires extensive communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Must work cooperatively in a team environment.
Must be able to work cooperatively with crafts personnel on related maintenance activities.
Must be capable of completing Radiation Worker and OSHA Hazardous Worker training.
Applicable Bachelors degree (Equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree).
1 year minimum work experience planning in a Nuclear Facility
