AECOM is seeking a Facilities Planner / Field Engineer to work in San Clemente, CA on the SONGS project.

Typical Responsibilities:

Under minimal supervision, performs complex duties utilizing advanced techniques and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and methods. Assumes lead responsibilities for a team of engineers and professional support staff.

•Supports Engineering in the installation of temporary electrical equipment to support maintenance and decommissioning activities including HVAC, crane repower and testing, radiation monitoring, and water filtration, and processing system set up.

•Supports to determine field routing of temporary power runs.

•Develops Facility work packages for design implementation, facility based preventative maintenance and surveillances as well as corrective maintenance and site support activities.

•Develop decommissioning work packages for design implementation, temporary services, and demolition activities.

•Monitors field installation activities, performs necessary sign off / verifications in work packages.

•Performs field checks that all entries in work packages are current and up to date.

•Performs or supports pre-job briefings in accordance with applicable procedures, with all required personnel prior to start of work activities.

•Assists implementation personnel with the interpretation of design requirements during installation.

•Prepares Field Change Requests (FCRs) when conflicts in design or field installation needs dictate.

•Prepares Request for Information documents (RFIs), and field sketches (FSKs), as well as Field Material Requisitions (FMRs) for purchase of permanent and temporary / consumable plant material.

•Performs surveillance of subcontractor activities.

•Dispositions nonconformance reports (NCRs) associated with assigned tasks.

•Coordinates with Operations for Work Authorization and lock out / tag out configurations; coordinates work package closure.

•Coordinates turnover of assigned packages to document control.

•Prepares turnover packages for completed work.

•Prepares rigging plans as applicable to the discipline.


Minimum Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or demonstrated combination of education/training and experience.

Experience:

6 years of experience in nuclear power plant control, planning, maintenance, or reactor operations is required.

Due to the nature of the work, candidate must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

•A Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, Nuclear, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.

•Site knowledge of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) electrical systems and components is highly preferable as is detailed knowledge of the site's facility infrastructure.

•San Onofre site SAP experience for document retrieval and general software navigation.

•San Onofre site experience with general electrical system arrangements, with emphasis on the newly installed 12kV bus ring, HVAC and lighting repowering, and temporary power field runs for decommissioning equipment.

•Experience with the San Onofre Cold and Dark mechanical modifications, system installation and rewpowering efforts

Additonal Information:

•Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

•This position does not include sponsorship for Untied States work authorization

•Relocation is not available for this position
