Mob/demob: Paid up to 8 hours a day / 500 miles IRS rate. This also includes $35 for meal allowance which they will expense.

Description: We have an opportunity in the Transmission and Distribution (T&D) Group for an engineering technician located in Akron, Ohio. The ideal candidate would have working knowledge with some or all of the following technical facets: Communication protocols such as IEC61850, DNP, Modbus, and SNMP, OPC, DDE and TCP/IP, fiber optic ISP/OSP installations and experience with SCADA and HMI (Human Machine Interface) software. Candidate should be willing to learn best practices for design of communication networks, automation systems, power management systems, RTU configuration and human-machine interface software for microprocessor based protection and control systems. The position is responsible for providing commissioning and start-up solutions for network and SCADA devices. •Prepare and recommend testing & commissioning solutions to the Project Manager or client. •Ensures the performance of all field testing on network equipment is completed accurately and safely. •Performs demonstration tests, as required, which are a series of functional tests designed to simulate real world conditions to ensure proper operation of equipment. •Ensure compliance of testing QA/QC process. •Regularly meet and correspond with clients and outside personnel with responsibility to act independently on technical matters related to testing & commissioning. •Other duties as assigned. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. •Dedication to task completion and a strong work ethic are essential. •Ability to communicate issues and identify solutions. •Meets and corresponds with clients or outside personnel and develop relationships with key client points of contact. •Effectively execute project work and deliver high quality work products. •Perform design quality reviews for projects of small to medium sizes. Qualifications •Associates degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Power & Controls, or equivalent is preferred. •Must have an expert understanding of electrical systems. •Must exhibit advanced knowledge of electrical industry standards. •Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong leadership skills, attention to safety, strong analytical, problem solving and trouble shooting skills. •Related consulting or utility experience is preferred. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree in science or related field is preferred. Entry-level position (zero to two years of professional experience). Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Previous related consulting experience preferred.
