The Truck Driver will be responsible for operating trucks of various sizes, some with trailer
attachments, open and enclosed, low-boys, etc. to move construction equipment and machinery to
project sites and regional offices across the country.
Drives truck with multi-ton capacity to transport and deliver construction equipment and machinery.
Maintains radio and/or telephone contact with supervisor to receive instructions and update
Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations and keep records of materials and products transported.
Plans delivery routes and obtains necessary permits and other documents necessary to legally operate rig on those roads.
May load and unload mobile construction equipment on and off trailer.
Determine best way to secure equipment and other cargo using blocks, straps, ropes and other devices for transport and perform those steps to secure loads.
Will perform routine daily inspections as well as light maintenance duties.
**Perform other shop duties as directed**.
High school diploma preferred and on-the-job training required.
***Must have a CDL license.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:
Perform a variety of duties and follow logical sequences.
Diesel mechanic and/or assisting as a helper.
Follow instructions and meet set standards.
Judge distances and slopes accurately.
Make decisions based on verifiable standards.
Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments with possible exposure to noise, dust,
fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, moving objects, sharp edges, and in all types of weather and temperature conditions.
Manual dexterity, sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Frequent climbing stairs/ladders, bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, reaching and crouching.
Occasional work on ladders, scaffolding or high structures.
Visual acuity to read printed and electronic documents.
Hearing capacity to receive, perceive and react to common construction environment auditory
