Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO)
Abilene, TX

CORE Safety Group is a nationwide safety management and loss control consultant. We are currently seeking a SSHO for a 12 month assignment in Abilene, TX to provide oversight of a new construction project on a military base. The SSHO will be responsible for identifying issues regarding safety matters at the project site and ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local and owner safety requirements.

Job Responsibilities:
• Conduct daily safety and health inspections and maintain a written log
• Conduct mishap investigations and complete required accident reports. Report mishaps and near misses.
• Use and maintain OSHA’s Form 300 to log work-related injuries and illnesses occurring on the project for Prime Contractors and subcontractors, and make available to the Contracting Officer upon request.
• Establish a Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) Deficiency Tracking System that lists and monitors outstanding deficiencies until resolution.
• Maintain a weekly list of high hazard activities involving energy, equipment, excavation, entry into confined space, and elevation, and be prepared to discuss details during QC Meetings.

Job Requirements:
• 5+ years construction safety experience
• Documented credentials for the following – Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Cranes, Confined Space, Trenching/Excavation
• EM 385

Specific vision abilities include accurate near and distant vision.
