[Fleet Mechanic] Long term Overseas employment opportunities

Kwajalein Atoll located in the Marshall Islands
Start date: ASAP
Duration 1-year contract with possible extension
Rotation 4 months on and 2 weeks off.
Tax free status after 330 days
Bonuses/Company pays for housing and food.
50hr + work weeks.
Current US Passport preferred.
OSHA 10 or basic plus preferred
Field Mechanic
Site or Project Manager

Diagnosis and repair of all types of heavy equipment to include but not limited to: hydraulic and lattice boom cranes, all aerial lifts, variable reach forklifts, excavators, loaders and heavy trucks.
Establish and maintain a good working relationship with the site management personnel to accomplish required equipment maintenance repairs on time and within budget.

• Develop a complete familiarity with all site equipment and equipment needs.
• Maintain effective equipment maintenance schedules and records on all company equipment and tools and implement a proactive preventative maintenance plan.
• Analyze parts and supply inventories required for timely support of operations and to insure adequate and cost effective inventory.
• Establish and maintain a budget for purchases and repairs.
• Identify outside shops (machine shops, hydraulic shops, electrical specialty shops, etc.) to perform special or time effective work. May select parts and supply vendors.
• Act as technical expert and advise equipment personnel when to take equipment out of service due to mechanical problems.
• Implement corporate maintenance and repair programs, equipment safety programs, and equipment training programs. Provide technical guidance in start-up of new equipment and follow up maintenance programs.
• Monitor equipment and tool warranty programs to insure warranty claims are
• forwarded for processing.
• Assist in maintaining all corporate equipment files including inventory, repair and maintenance, etc.
• Attend management meetings as required to report progress and discuss challenges.
• Assist Superintendents with equipment requirements and usage for maximum production and value.
• Perform additional assignments as requested by the Project Manager.
• Be able to identify and source replacement parts for all equipment. Look up part numbers and help with purchase orders for those part.
o Must possess practical knowledge of the function, operation, and maintenance of construction equipment.
o Educational and experience requirements include: two year degree from a technical college and 10+ years experience as a heavy equipment mechanic with emphasis on cranes and/or aerial lifts preferred.
o Experience in construction equipment utilization (such as master mechanic or equipment management) or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
o Must be able to read shop manuals, parts books, hydraulic and electrical schematics. Must be able to use measuring devices (micrometers, dial bore gauges, calipers, etc.), hand tools, air tools, power tools and welding equipment (MIG and stick).
o Must have training and experience in hydraulic system diagnostics and repair, 12/24 volt electrical training and experience preferred.
o Diesel engine training and experience preferred.
o Must have excellent knowledge of OSHA requirements applicable to equipment operations, repair, and maintenance.
o Must possess practical knowledge of the function, operation, and maintenance of construction equipment.
o Should be able to: Evaluate information and analyze problems logically to develop solutions; Express ideas clearly to others; Work with figures quickly and easily in some work disciplines; Deal with people in actual job duties beyond giving and receiving instructions; Work independently; Understand the meanings and relationships of words and use language effectively; Work with numbers accurately to review budgets, materials, and time schedules; Make decisions based on personal judgment; Perform a variety of duties which may change often; Deal with people in actual job duties and have agreeable working relationships.
o Physically, workers must be able to: Hear and see well (either naturally or with correction); Speak clearly; Stoop, bend, and crouch; use hands, arms, legs fully; see well (either naturally or with correction); and lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds; Sit for long periods of time; and climb on things and maintain balance.
