Supervises and coordinates activities of work crew engaged in the fabrication and installation of sheet metal products and equipment. As a working foreman, assist with fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair sheet metal products and equipment. All work performed in a safe and professional manner. Insulating hydronic pipes, water pipes, ductwork with fiberglass, and armor flex type insulation.


Perform work to assist crew as needed, or as requested by supervisor.
Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders as needed.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Establishes and adjusts work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel.
Analyzes and resolves work problems.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Familiar with SMACNA standards
Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces, using tape measures, handsaws, knives, and scissors.
Remove or seal off old insulation, following safety procedures.
Fit insulation around obstructions, and shape insulating materials and protective coverings as required.
Determine the amounts and types of insulation needed, and methods of installation, based on factors such as location, surface shape, and equipment use.
Install sheet metal around insulated pipes with screws in order to protect the insulation from weather conditions or physical damage.
Apply, remove, and repair insulation, thermal and fire, on industrial and domestic equipment, pipes, ductwork, or other mechanical systems such as heat exchangers, tanks,pipework and vessels, to help control noise and maintain temperatures.
Select appropriate insulation, thermal and fire, such as mineral wool, fiberglass, foams or other materials based on the heat retaining or excluding characteristics of the material.
Read blueprints and specifications to determine job requirements.
Cover, seal, or finish insulated surfaces or access holes with covers of metallic or nonmetallic, canvas strips, sealants, tape, cement or asphalt mastic.
Working with tools and machinery used in the trade.


Educational and experience requirements: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Completion of apprenticeship program or qualified technical training and 2 years experience as an Apprentice, or equivalent combination of education/training and experience. License preferred and may be required on certain projects. NCCER in Sheet Metal ot HVAC preferred. OSHA 10 or the ability to get an OSHA 10. Passport required.

Physically, workers must be able to: See well (either naturally or with correction); Coordinate the movements eyes, hands and fingers; Use hands, arms and fingers fully; Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding in excess of 8 feet; Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, squatting and/or crouching; lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and occasionally more; Sustained overhead work; Frequently moves, assembles, lifts or carries furniture, equipment, tools and materials. Physical presence on the job site is required. Employee must be able to travel internationally, live in dorm style shared housing and work outside in extreme cold temperatures. Must be able and willing to undergo medical & dental exams/testing and pass all physical requirements of the contract.
