The Senior Mechanical Engineer oversees the review of welding procedure specifications (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR), and related vendor submittals for compliance with the project specifications and the applicable national codes and standards. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will assist with coordinating with other engineering disciplines, procurement, supplier quality and construction in addressing welding issues, including NDE issues in a team environment. The Senior Mechanical Engineer consults with system and equipment engineers, construction and operations in resolving open technical issues related to material selection and corrosion and erosion. The Senior Mechanical Engineer develops and revises project welding related specifications. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will assist in developing and revising project welding related specifications,
BS degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering from an accredited university or college with 6 years of related experience.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be able to obtain site security badge for access to work site.
Extensive experience using industry and national codes and standards as it relates to developing and reviewing welding and NDE procedures
Working knowledge of ASME B&PV code, Section V and Section IX and AWS D.1 and D1.6 code requirements and standards
Working knowledge of welding related NDE Knowledge of material selection process as it relates to corrosion and erosion
