Needed: Safety Coordinator in Reno, NV
$25 per hour + $75 per day per diem
55 hour per week
Must have OSHA 500 and CPR Training
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION
 Plan and execute the Company’s Safety function requirements.
 Conduct safety training sessions for employees and supervisors as well as daily site Toolbox Safety meetings.
 Implement preventive measures and recommend improvement on any unsafe conditions, materials and equipment.
 Perform job site analysis, determine employee exposure, and institute safe work procedures.
 Conduct daily safety inspections, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
 Conduct accident investigations and facilitate the return to work program and manage daily activities regarding injury management.
 Investigate ALL incidents and near misses, including recommendations for future prevention and methods of mitigation by participating in all Root Cause or similar Investigations.
 Administrate the Company Substance Abuse Program, including drug and alcohol testing.
 Maintain all site required documentation related to safetyE issues (i.e. accident reports, safety audits, inspection reports, training logs, QAQC documentation).
 Work with project personnel in a professional and mature manner in order to maintain the integrity of the Company and relationships formed therein.
 Cooperate with clients and sub-contractors on the work progress and monitor their safety related functions.
 Ensure Compliance with applicable OSHA, PHMSA, FMCSA, EPA, TCEQ, Federal, State, and Local Requirements.
 Ensure Compliance with and assist in the development of Temporary Traffic Control Plans and
 Assist with Employee Orientation and other onboarding processes for new hires.
 Assist Regional Manager as needed.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE and/or EXPERIENCE
 Extensive knowledge of OSHA Regulations (1910 & 1926).
 Knowledge of and ability to maintain OSHA 300/300A/301 Logs.
 Knowledge in DOT/Non-DOT D/A testing.
 Ability to conduct Incident/Accident Investigations and fill out necessary Incident/Accident Reports.
 Ability to conduct new Employee Orientation.
 Knowledge in conducting and authoring Job Safety Analysis.
 Ability to create and lead Weekly Safety Meetings.
 Ability to conduct Worksite Safety Audits and Job Safety Observations.
 OSHA 30 General Industry Certification and/or OSHA 30 Construction Certification
 5 yrs. of construction safety experience required (preferably in electrical construction).
 First Aid, CPR Certificate
 Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
 Must have and maintain a valid driver license and safe driving record
 Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or at a minimum OSHA 510 or OSHA 511 Certificate
 OSHA Outreach Trainer – Construction or General Industry, or
 PEC Instructor, or
 NCCER Instructor, or
 Forklift / Manlift Instructor, or
 First Aid, CPR Instructor
 Ability and desire to attain the above-named certifications.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND/OR WORKING CONDITION
 Ability to climb up or down ladders, stairs and scaffolding.
 Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
 Ability to apply a pushing or pulling force in excess of 25 pounds.
 Ability to work in high, precarious places.
 Ability to work in various outdoor weather conditions (extreme heat/cold, rain, ice, high winds…)
