As a GPI Superintendent, you’ll be responsible for the oversight, planning and execution of GPI Solar projects. Working closely with a Granite Project Manager, you will have the responsibility for ensuring your project is delivered safely, on time and on budget.
*Develop and implement site utilization plan and establish crew sizes and tasks.
*Provide proactive and intentional leadership in developing the safety culture on the project site.
*Drive and take responsibility for the overall project schedule, daily work planning and utilization of site resources and staff.
*Coordinate, plan and supervise project field activities with foremen and/or craft activities.
*Maintain liaison with other functions to ensure all require materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule.
*Partner with the Project Manager during the construction phase to budget, manage, and forecast the following: craft labor, equipment, materials, small tools, consumables, and general conditions.
*Analyze and resolve constructability and work scope problems, ability to determine work method alternative.
*Maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, craft labor and subcontractors, etc.

*Have 8 to 10 years of construction experience, with at least four of those years having supervisory experience as worked up through the ranks.
*Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products;
*Keen understanding of industry; Familiarity with requirements of drawings and specifications and with terms and conditions of Project Contracts, Subcontracts and Purchase Orders;
*Strong written and verbal communication skills;
*Good math/accounting skills;
*Strong management skills;
*Strong ability to read drawings and specifications;

*Exhibits strong leadership qualities;
*Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times:

*Junior College or Vocational education desired;
*First Aid/CPR certification;
Ideal Candidate would have similar experience to the below:
*Strong understanding on inventory controls and shipping as well as manufacturing process of the parts.
*Run multiple crews on different jobs simultaneously.
*Extensive experience in project management as for costing, payroll and forecasting.
*Able to read and understand prints.
*Able to foresee and anticipate the ever-changing solar market trends for implementation of building practices and business growth.
*Involved with numerous Continuous Improvement projects. (Continuous Improvement Mindset)
*Heavy structural concrete forming and pouring on multiple projects
*Schedule all concrete trucks, pumps and testing. As well as RFI and submittals.
*Purchase and run small tool controls.
*Run dirt and grading crews involved in the set up and ordering of equipment.
*Assist in paving for milling and utilities adjustments.
*Concrete Superintendent running two flat work crews and one curb crew of 30 plus employees pouring 1000 plus yards a week.
