SIPS, Inc., an established contractor specializing in painting for commercial environments, is looking for an experienced professional painter who can act as a job foreman to both manage and work on our commercial projects. Work is available immediately.


Job Overview

The ideal candidate is a productive team leader of a 10-12 persons paint crew which prepares surfaces and applies coatings to large commercial and industrial buildings throughout the East Coast. The job supervisor will work closely with the office to understand and execute the varying projects scope of work within the outlined timeline. They must possess painting skills and use lift equipment safely around the public while adhering to operational guidelines. Through a minimum of five years of experience, the job foreman must possess knowledge of paint types according to application and surface type, operating and maintaining professional paint sprayers and pumps, and how to execute the preparation and painting of interior and exterior surfaces in conformity to paint specifications. Extended overnight travel is mandatory, as well as occasional night work.


Requirements:

- Five years' painting experience, including at least one-year of verifiable supervisory experience

- Knowledge of paint materials and products

- Understanding of application processes to different types of surfaces

- Valid driver's license

- Clear understanding of safety regulations and procedures

- Ability to perform any and all other duties set forth by the client scope of work

- Capable of passing drug screening

- Familiarity with boom lifts, scissor lifts and pressure washers used on jobs

- Ability to communicate effectively to customers, employees and the office

- Maintain good working relationships while motivating and training painters


Responsibilities:

- Meet with store managers at beginning of each job to go over scope of work and answer any questions

- Effectively run field operations for 10-12 persons painting crew

- Supervise the preparation of surfaces and application of coatings to client buildings

- Apply coatings correctly and according to specifications

- Adhere to established project schedules

- Take before and after pictures if required

- Effectively mobilize crew, materials and supplies to client site

- Direct daily work assignments of painting crew

- Inspect work of painters in the field or shop

- Manage and terminate assigned employees

- Monitor the acquisition and use of materials

- Record time for painting crew

- Train and/or inform employees of new work procedures, changes in safety regulations and work policies

- Estimate material and equipment requirements of work projects

- Communicate material and equipment needs for each project to office

- Train new employees

- Ensure company and rental equipment is properly maintained

- Keep record of all colors and amounts used on jobs

- Advise management as requested on field related issues

- Communicate between field and office
