Position Summary

The Plant Loader Operator is responsible for the operation of a front-end loader to transport and load the materials.


• Understand and comply with all company safety policies and procedures
• Seat belts must always be worn
• Conduct a safety walk around make sure the loader is in safe working condition before using also checking all fluids and fill out the proper equipment reports before moving the equipment and after your shift is complete
• Check auto greaser make sure it’s full and working if no auto, manually grease each shift
• Check tire pressures once a week report this on our equipment report
• Communicate with Plant Foreman/Plant operator to see what materials incoming and what type materials are needed in each material bin
• Have proper knowledge of what mixes are being made and the percentages of each material needed per mix. If unknown, or unsure, ask the plant foreman/plant operator.
• Operate loader at a safe and reasonable rate of speed to help prevent spillage of materials, and be in control at all times
• Keep work areas clean and neat and help out around the plant as needed (STOCKPILES, TRUCK WASH BAY, RAP PILES, CORRIDOR MINING STOCKPILES)
• Unprocessed Rap pile needs to be level clean with safety berms on ramps and top of piles
• Processed Rap piles need safety berms on ramps and at top of stockpiles
• Ramp slope should always be 10 degrees or less
• Block off the stockpile access if stockpile or ramps are questionable dangerous
• Keep all haul ramps and haul roads clean, bermed and in good driving condition
• Keep loader and other equipment clean inside and outside; pressure wash weekly
• Must have complete knowledge of stockpile location and material type
• Keep all stockpiles pushed up and in a shapely manner
• Always maintain berms on roadways and dumping points and make sure all piles are safe from falling. Don’t undercut or undermine any stockpiles
• Always keep space between stockpiles so we do not have contamination from two types of materials
• Extract materials from 90 degrees from the unloading stacker conveyor of each pile and blend 78s stone 67s stone and rap material before feeding bins
• Extract processed rap and keep a minim of 300 tons loose not in a dense pile mixed and ready to load into the plants rap bin
• Fuel Loader before leaving
• Make sure to clean under reject belt and cold-feed bins before leaving
• Blow out all air filters twice a week
• Help around the plant as needed this is a team, we need everybody’s help at work
• Be on time and ready to work


• Able to carry a minimum of 50 pounds
• Required to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, and sit for extended periods of time

• Dedicated and hard working
• Needs the skill of active listening. This means giving full attention to what other team members are saying and taking time to understand the points being made, asking question and making sure all parties understand one and another
• Must have the skill of time management. This includes managing all materials in our yard/on our site
• Must have the skill of interaction with others
• Must have the ability to control the machine or vehicle to exact positions
• Must have the ability to judge objects and distance, closer, or farther away and between other objects
