Thompson Construction is looking for a Maintenance Technician local to Sumter, SC (NO PER DIEM) that will be responsible for repair and maintenance of equipment in order to maximize production in a safe and timely manner with the highest quality possible. This is for a long term position with benefits.
Repair and maintain mechanical, hydraulic and robotic components of production machines and equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufactures specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment.
Observe mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of malfunction.
Perform trouble-shooting analysis on malfunctions and makes adjustments and repairs in a timely manner.
Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
Lubricate and clean parts to make and repair parts.
Remove and replace worn or defective parts of drive mechanism or hydraulic systems.
Realign and adjust components.
May modify computer-controlled motion of robot, applying knowledge of program commands and using robot controller and PLC.
Other duties as assigned.
Must have High School Diploma or GED.
Completed Technical College in Industrial Maintenance or related course and three years of experience in the field.
Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisor/co-workers and understand direction from supervisor.
Must be able to utilize basic math, use a calculator and read tape ruler.
Computer skills also required.
Employee must be able to lift heavy objects up to 70 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand and reach repetitively, operate moving equipment and work in hot/cold/damp/cramped environments.
Candidate may be required to pass a drug test and Criminal background check based on job location/requirements.
