Construction Manager Position needed for a full-time, staff opportunity with American Ordnance located in Middletown, IA.
The Work You'll Be Doing:
Performs buildability/constructability assessments on design aspects of project during all stages of the design. Participates drawing interhchecks, 3D model reviews and prepares for and attends all charrette reviews for the design.
Ability to communicate complex project execution strategy and plans clearly to internal and external stakeholders and lead diverse groups of staff and contractors
Daily verbal and written communication with executive management, design team, and other team members to provide progress updates and report issues
Build and enhance reports on project cost and schedule in a Federal EVM environment. Coordinates delivery of services, specifically engineering & design deliverables, schedule, cost, and change management.
Demonstrated ability to develop and run program plans and timelines in ambiguous environments with competing priorities and demanding clients
Thorough knowledge of contract language relating to all aspects of design, construction, and commissioning to include all phases of work including proposal, scope of work, T&C's, modifications and close out
What You Need to Bring to the Table:
BS degree, OR alternative to a degree, an additional 10 years of relevant professional experience.
10+ years leading execution of capital projects including engineering, procurement and construction experience.
PE License preferred
Great attitude and team player.
Successful completion of background screening process.
The Big Picture – Top Skills You Should Possess:
15+ years of design support as well as a solid background in construction & commissioning management experience on major defense and/or energy projects. Federal contract experience on major design-build or design-build-operate-maintain undertakings is a plus.
Proven success effectively communicating across all levels of an organization
Demonstrated history of one-of-a-kind or "pilot" capital projects
High competency with personal computers and productivity software, such as Microsoft Office, MS Project and Sharepoint. A comprehensive grasp on essential construction industry software including Prolog, Primavera, Primavera, Microsoft Office, etc.
Demonstrated ability to organize project resources
