Geotech- Laborer
This position, as with all field positions, consists of outdoor work involving strenuous physical activity, often during inclement weather. A 60-hour work week is typical and daily work schedules vary depending upon season, weather, and job requirements. This position requires a willingness and flexibility to do whatever task is required of the employee. It is vital that employees work together as a part of the team and maintain the highest standards of quality and safety. Individual will report to the Lead Geotech.
Minimum Requirements
Must be over 18
Must have prior experience working / actively hiking outdoors during the summer months in Arizona
Must be willing and able to travel and be away from home for the duration of the project
Must be reliable, follow directions accurately, consistently, and completely
Must be a self-starter with the ability to identify activities to remain productive in down-time
Must accept responsibility for actions and be willing to learn and grow in a complex environment
Must be comfortable communicating respectfully and clearly with multiple supervisors
Must possess and display strong leadership and organizational skills
Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
Must be able to work with minimal supervision and practice independent judgment
Must be able to prioritize job duties in an organized and efficient manner
Must be able to adapt well to change and work well under pressure
Must have skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
Must have the ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
Must be willing and able to submit to post-offer background check, drug screen and employment verification / reference screening process.
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Physical & Environmental Demands
Must be able to work in extreme temperatures of over 100 F for 5+ hours daily
Must be able to work in all type of inclement weather
Must be able to safely hike on rugged terrain while carrying a pack, tools, and supplies (75+ lbs.)
Must be willing and able to make safety-conscious decisions routinely as projects are often remote
Must be able to comfortably navigate rugged terrain while remaining active, mobile, and productive
Must be willing and able to wear all required PPE (personal protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, reflective vest, seatbelt and work gloves.
