Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled Construction Assistant Superintendent to join our growing team. The Assistant Superintendent will help provide on-site leadership for major retail, grocery and commercial projects throughout the Lafayette, Louisiana region. This role will be responsible for managing a portion of the construction process and field related activity such as job site progress, safety, cost, quality, and reporting.
The Assistant Superintendent must also support the Superintendent in monitoring job progress on site; ensuring compliance with contract documents, the Quality Control Program and Safety protocols; developing and executing on the project plans and schedules; assisting with logistical coordination; and planning and preparing documentation to facilitate the close out process, all at the discretion of the Superintendent.
Monitor job progress on site and provide on-site coordination for all phases of the construction projects including coordinating subcontractors, material, and equipment
Assist with directing personnel and subcontractors; scheduling and sequencing the day to day activities of work
Overseeing individual projects to assure compliance with the scope and quality as established by the contract documents
Proactively anticipating in solving problems that could delay construction
Physically inspecting projects to monitor progress and compliance with project standards
Attend and conduct regularly scheduled progress meetings
Complete weekly reporting and assist with logistical coordination
Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications
Provides on-time and high quality construction planning and execution
Proactively identify and track project critical items to manage risk and prevent schedule delays
Manage general costs and resources to maximize project profitability
Manage relationships with clients and vendors to ensure seamless conflict resolution, account maintenance, and overall development of client relationship
Provide leadership in safety by maintaining clean, safe working conditions
Conduct safety meetings, training and file timely accident reports
Perform additional assignments and assume additional responsibilities as needed
. Requirements:
Commercial Construction Superintendent Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
3+ years of experience in commercial construction; retail and industrial experience a plus
2+ years of experience as a Construction Foreman, preferred
Deadline and detail-oriented in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Extensive construction experience in building multiple projects types (especially grocery stores, retail, industrial and remodel projects)
Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint)
Enthusiasm for travel
Technology minded
Must be eligible to work in the US and have a valid drivers license
Pre-employment background screening (criminal, drug screen and DMV) is required for all positions
