Job Title: Electrical Shop Technician
To succeed in this role, you must have experience assembling and wiring control panels, be familiar working off blueprints, schematics, and a bill of materials. You also need to have knowledge in electrical theory, measurement skills, and light metal fabrication.
Assemble, terminate, and wire electrical panels and electrical boxes using the specified tooling and approved workmanship standards, including complete installation into enclosure
Perform point to point wiring on a variety of electrical panels and power distribution electrical boxes; using company supplied hand tools, such as crimpers and wire strippers
Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions.
Position, align, or adjust work pieces or electrical parts to facilitate wiring or assembly.
Majority of time will be spent wiring panels therefore it is imperative that candidate be proficient at wiring
Layout of components in various size cabinets
High School diploma or GED, with 2+ years experience, prefer technical school or equivalent experience
This is a full time, shop environment position. There is no per diem offered for this position.
May require working in extreme hot or cold weather conditions. Requires working standing on feet most of the workday and climbing ladders, stooping, bending, or squatting. May require working in cramped or uncomfortable positions. Must wear respiratory equipment when required. Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to fifty pounds. Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position.
