Primary Responsibilities
The Maintenance Services Coordinator supports the Maintenance Manager and the Senior Maintenance Coordinator in developing, leading, and monitoring processes surrounding maintenance operations. Specifically, the Maintenance Services Coordinator provides assistance to follow cost, preventative maintenance, schedules, personnel work assignments, and special items such as major repairs and construction projects. The Maintenance Services Coordinator is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week and must resolve any problem which occurs in any of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama facilities that would impact working conditions. These decisions are without the advice of the Maintenance Manager and Senior Maintenance Coordinator, if not available.
Additional responsibilities include:
Takes direction from the Maintenance Manager and interfaces with and leads activities of Maintenance Technicians
Inspecting facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance
Preparing weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work
Monitor inventory of materials and equipment
Participate in coordination of project
Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations
Interfaces with all levels of personnel, contractors and vendors to resolve associate requests
Advises the Maintenance Manager and Senior Maintenance Coordinator concerning issues and recommends solutions to solve building systems issues
Assist in the development and review of data system status reports for verification that critical equipment is maintained according to the operations and maintenance plan

Summary of Qualifications
State board certified Electrical or HVAC contractor; or in lieu of State board certification, either (1) a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Building Science or similar field, or (2) five years of proven facilities maintenance experience (commercial and/or institutional)
Two years of experience in commercial or institutional building systems
Knowledge and expertise in a least one of the following trades: electrical, HVAC, and/or commercial or institutional building maintenance/construction
Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating etc.)
Experience reading electrical and mechanical drawings, wiring schemes and control diagrams
Experience in a position diagnosing problems in facility systems and effectively recommending solutions
Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
Willingness to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis
Valid US driver's license
Willingness to work on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Bachelor's degree is preferred
Master certified electrician preferred
Large commercial switchgear testing experience preferred
