Construction Materials Technician

Location: Miami Lakes, FL
Job Type: Full-time
Compensation: $24-$28/hr

Job Summary:

The Construction Materials Technician in the Road Maintenance division is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of road maintenance activities in the designated region. This role involves overseeing and implementing quality control measures, conducting inspections, and collaborating with maintenance teams to uphold the department's standards. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall efficiency and safety of road maintenance operations.

Responsibilities:

� Monitor and evaluate road maintenance activities to ensure compliance with FDOT standards and specifications.
� Conduct regular inspections of maintenance projects, materials, and equipment.
� Collaborate with maintenance teams to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
� Maintain detailed records of quality control inspections, test results, and compliance documentation.
� Prepare comprehensive reports on the quality of road maintenance activities, highlighting any issues or deviations from standards.
� Communicate findings to relevant stakeholders and recommend corrective actions.
� Work closely with road maintenance crews, contractors, and other FDOT divisions to promote a culture of quality and safety.
� Provide training and support to maintenance personnel on quality control procedures and best practices.
� Identify opportunities for process improvement in road maintenance operations.
� Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes affecting quality control in road maintenance.

Qualifications:

� High School Diploma or Equivalent
� Previous experience in quality control, preferably in road maintenance or construction projects.
� Knowledge of FDOT standards, specifications, and regulations.
� Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
� Ability to work along local roadways, interstates, and or/highways with commuter traffic passing by at varying rates of speed.
� Valid Driver's License
� Willingness to work multiple shifts and varying hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime.
� Fluent in the use of Microsoft Office Products
