Title:                   Construction MEP Technical Manager

PIC Group has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Construction Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) Technical Manager, supporting a greenfield data center construction project located in  Kokomo, Indiana.  The Construction MEP Technical Manager reports directly to the Project Manager and will be responsible for troubleshooting complex technical field concerns, and will be called on to provide technical expertise and guidance in many controls related requirements.  The Construction MEP Technical Manager will assist in the implementation of the project’s 4-phase quality control plan, as well as monitor field construction of mechanical and/or electrical subcontractors for schedule management and conformance to contractual commitments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Provide technical support during design and construction to assist owner and Architect Engineer.
•    Assist in the implementation of the project’s QC Planning and inspection process.
•    Monitor Field Construction of Electrical / Mechanical subcontractors for schedule management and conformance to contract documents.       
•    Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting capabilities to company personnel as required to resolve field construction or similar problems. May include interpretation of codes, controls related concerns, or design of specialty equipment.
•    Develop, issue and maintain general instructions and guidelines for field construction methods utilizing current industry and company practices. 
•    Develop and maintain current work controlling documents which set mandatory minimum requirements for work, authority, documentation, and record requirements in accordance with applicable codes and contract requirements. 
•    Review A/E specifications and bid inquiries to insure technical and code requirements for material, equipment and field activities are met. 
•    Continuously research, evaluate, and recommend implementation of new (or improved) construction processes, equipment, material, techniques, and methods as technology improves. 
•    Participate in constructability reviews of design documents to help determine most cost effective and schedule efficient method of construction. 
•    Provides technical input to company functions such as estimating, controls, project management or other areas. 

Job Requirements:
•    Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
•    Prior hands-on experience with construction/commissioning scheduling, ensuring accuracy and diligent oversight of the data at all times.
•    Effectively communicate with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the project.
•    Demonstrated capability and experience with greenfield construction projects.
•    Prior experience with scheduling and inventory management.
•    Exceptional ability to work efficiently, be adept at multitasking and prioritizing work to meet deadlines and always work proactively.
•    Proven excellence in maintaining relationships with customers, coworkers, and administrators.
•    Extensive knowledge of safety practices and utilization of these practices to provide a safe work environment for all.
•    Skilled with various computer systems and programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

Physical Requirements:
•    Duties require walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods of time, climbing vertical and inclined ladders and stairs, and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
•    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
•    Must be able to use protective equipment correctly (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, gloves, vests, etc.).

Education / Experience:
•    HS Diploma required.
•    10+ years of experience in heavy industrial construction & commissioning (including power plants).
•    Previous experience with data center construction preferred, not required.
