Title:                  Mid-Level/Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:  
PIC Group is in need of a experienced Mid-Level/Senior Electrical Engineer to work for one of the world’s most respected design, engineering, and project management consultancies. The Mid-Level/Senior Electrical Engineer will have the opportunity to work on infrastructure planning, engineering, construction, environmental consulting, urban planning, architecture, and program management services to public and private clients across the country. The Mid-Level/Senior Electrical Engineer position has primary responsibility for project level electrical engineering activities and multiple office project execution, ensuring all engineering work is completed on schedule, on budget and in accordance with client and company established work procedures. This position has the flexibility to work in the regional office, in a hybrid capacity, or remote.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Providing electrical engineering design on power and industrial projects.
•    Providing support on project scope and estimating.
•    Providing input to project cost and schedule.
•    Controlling and monitoring design budget.
•    Performing electrical system studies and calculations such as load flow and short circuit analysis, relay coordination and programming, arc flash analysis, grounding, and lightning protection system calculations.
•    Preparing engineering reports, tender and construction drawings, and documents.
•    Preparing equipment specification and selection and performing technical bid evaluation and making recommendations.
•    Preparing power distribution layouts, grounding and lightning protection system design and layouts.
•    Developing wiring diagrams, single line and three-line diagrams and schematic diagrams.
•    Sizing and specifying electrical equipment.
•    Developing high voltage substation physical and protection and control system design.
•    Assisting with field construction, commissioning, and vendor factory acceptance tests.
•    Ability to effectively interact with other disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
•    Strong knowledge of NEC, ANSI and IEEE standards and recommended practices.

Job Requirements:
•    Solid engineering design background in power, industrial and high voltage substations (AIS and GIS).
•    Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NEC, ANSI/ IEEE).
•    Leadership skills to lead projects and engineering design team.
•    Excellent communication skills with a focus on client management.
•    Ability to perform equipment sizing, specification, and selection (transformers, generators, motors, HV substation equipment AIS and GIS physical layout, elevation, conductor and bus bar sizing/selection, and material selection).
•    Ability to develop one-line diagrams, 3-line diagrams, schematic diagrams.
•    Ability to perform power system studies (load flow, short circuity, arc flash, relay coordination, grounding/lightning protection system,).
•    Knowledge of power system analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, Easy Power, CDEGS.

Physical Requirements:
•    Office environment with travel to customer sites as required. 
•    While on site, may require protective equipment (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, etc.)

Education / Experience:
•    Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university. 
•    5 to 9 years of experience in industry.
•    Experience in engineering design in power, industrial, and high voltage substations.
•    Valid P.E. in the US or have NCEES record.

Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $62 - $72.
