[Electrical Engineer] MEP Technical Engineer

TRAVEL: 100% travel to locations such as Columbus, OH; Boydton, VA; San Antonio, TX; and Carlisle, IN

COMPENSATION: $110-$135K

POSITION SUMMARY:
Are you a master of blueprints, a wizard of wires, and a virtuoso of voltage? If so, we've got the perfect role for you! As a Technical Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of transforming architectural dreams into tangible structures in the automotive and/or datacenter industries. The ideal candidate will come with some complex, larger-value projects of various types. We expect industry, yet creative solutions to complex problems to positively affect equipment startup and commissioning. You'll be eyeball deep in the implementation of the project’s 4-phase quality control plan and monitor field construction of mechanical/electrical subcontractors for schedule management and conformance to contract documents.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical support during design and preconstruction to assist the owner and architect engineer.
- Manage equipment start up and turnaround process.
- Assist in the implementation of the project’s QC planning and inspection process.
- Monitor field construction of electrical/mechanical subcontractors' adherence to contract documents and timeline.
- Provide technical support to resolve field construction problems.
- Develop, implement, and maintain general instructions and guidelines for field construction methods using industry and company standards.
- Develop and maintain current work controlling documents which set mandatory minimum requirements for work, authority, documentation and record requirements in accordance with applicable codes and contract requirements.
- Review architectural/engineering specifications, bid inquiries, etc. to ensure technical and code requirements for material, equipment, and field activities are met.
- Continuously research, evaluate, and recommend implementation of new/improved construction processes, equipment, material, techniques, and methods.
- Participate in constructability reviews of design documents to help determine most cost effective and schedule efficient method of construction.
- Provide technical input to company functions such as estimating, controls, project management, and/or other areas.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Degree.
- Minimum 5-years automotive and/or datacenter electrical construction (start to finish) experience.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of discipline construction technology, equipment, materials, methods, etc., required.
- Proficiency in problem solving and written/verbal communications skills - essential.
- Computer literate in a wide variety of applications including web-based project management systems.
- Ability to accept project assignments that may require extended long term temporary living arrangements or frequent travel to non-local job sites.
