Job Summary:  
PIC Group has an immediate need for a remote Project Engineer, supporting a construction project for a leading utility. The Project Engineer reports directly to the Project Director and is responsible for coordination of all technical integration activities on assigned projects, ensuring projects are designed, delivered, and commissioned in accordance with our client’s technical requirements.  The Project Engineer must have extensive technical knowledge, as well as awareness of all aspects of gas turbine power plant design, construction, and commissioning, be able to recognize when technical problems are developing and initiate appropriate corrective actions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Support Bid & Proposal project phase, ensuring scope of work is in full alignment and compliance with contract technical specifications and requirements. 
•    Identifies potential technical and execution risks and recommends mitigation actions.  
•    Review project budgets to ensure they adequately cover design and scope of supply requirements.
•    Effectively communicates project scope, design, and deliverable requirements in a clear manner to all internal groups.  
•    Coordinate closely with customer and internal teams regarding any requested changes in scope or design, ensuring that agreed changes are quickly communicated to all affected groups.
•    Manage scope and design integration activities to eliminate technical and execution risk while improving overall project deliverables.
•    Coordinate directly with client’s technical team as single point of contact, ensuring communication is clear, and project requirements, expectations, and best practices are followed.  
•    Proactively eliminate project execution risk by anticipating and mitigating design and execution issues, maintaining focus on quality, schedule, and costs.
•    Ensure on-time and high quality deliverables of equipment, information, and services are in full compliance with project technical requirements.  
•    Provide Project Director with regular status reports summarizing technical activities, schedule performance, risks, budget status, and forecasts.
•    Provide technical leadership to client and site teams to ensure full compliance with technical requirements during construction and commissioning align with project scope. 
•    Provide proper and timely resolution of all site technical issues. 
•    Provide technical support and coordination to customers and their contractors.
•    Ensure clear definition and swift closeout of project punch list items at project completion.
•    Provide accurate and complete as-built documentation to external customers and internal departments.
•    Ensure all site quality control documentation and test reports are properly archived and communicated to responsible customer service personnel. 
•    Occasional trips to a pre-feasibility project site may be required, as needed.

Job Requirements:
•    A solid balance of gas turbine power plant technical knowledge, business management, and customer relationship skills are required.
•    Strong electrical and/or mechanical experience in the field, providing trouble shooting and guidance when needed to mitigate risk and impact to the project
•    Strong customer service, communication, and relationship building skills.
•    Proven capability in establishing trust in working relationships with a highly diverse customer population.
•    Demonstrated leadership capability in collaborating with customers, contractors, internal departments, and all levels within a multi-disciplinary matrix organization.
•    Flexible and adaptable, able to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions, cope effectively with complexity and change, remain calm, and maintain steady performance under pressure.
•    Ability to focus on key priorities and manage multiple project requirements within demanding time constraints.
•    The ability to effectively work across multiple time-zones and sometimes outside of normal working hours.
•    Excellent problem-solving skills, able to identify, analyze, and recommend solutions.
•    Solid organizational and administrative skills.
•    Requires competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Physical Requirements:
•    Walk, stand, kneel, stoop without difficulty.
•    Be able to tolerate noise commonly found in a power plant setting.
•    Be able to manage temperature extremes.
•    Be able to lift up to 50 lbs

Education / Experience:
•    B.S. degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Power Plant Engineering) strongly preferred.
•    In lieu of education, 20+ years of equivalent industry or field experience in a power plant setting is required.
•    10+ years of aero-derivative and/or industrial gas turbine power plant design and construction experience combined with degree preferred.
