Remote - QA Inspector (Document Control)
Pay: $45/hour
1-month term
I. Document Package Preparation:
* Client Specification Review: This is the foundational step. Thoroughly understand the client's requirements, including:
* Format: Templates, naming conventions, file types (PDF preferred for long-term archiving).
* Content: Specific data required for each document type (more on this below).
* Quality: Acceptance criteria for records, including sign-offs and qualifications.
* Submission: Method of delivery (electronic, hard copy, or both), platform, and any access control requirements.
* Record Gathering and Verification: Collect all necessary documents, ensuring they are legible, complete, and authentic. Pay close attention to traceability and version control. The records you listed are essential:
* Welding Verification and Material Records:
* Procedure Qualification Records (PQR): Document the welding procedure's capability to produce acceptable welds.
* Welder Performance Qualification Records (WPQR): Verify the welder's ability to execute the qualified procedure.
* Certified Material Test Reports (CMTRs): Provide chemical and physical properties of the base materials. Crucial for traceability and material verification.
* Heat Treat Reports: Detailed records of the heat treatment process, including temperatures, times, and cooling rates. Must align with specified standards.
* Certificates of Compliance (COCs): Confirm that materials and components meet specified requirements. Often provided by the supplier.
* Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Reports: Detailed reports for each NDT examination performed (e.g., radiography, ultrasonics, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant). Include:
* Calibration data
* Results (including any indications)
* Evaluation against acceptance criteria
* Supplier Request for Waiver (SRW) / Deviation Dispositions (SDDR):
Document any deviations from approved specifications or drawings, including the justification and approved resolution.
* Positive Material Identification (PMI) Results:
* Drawings / Weld Maps: Provide visual representation of weld locations, including weld numbers and corresponding documentation. Revision control is essential.
* Document Package Assembly:
* Organization: Structure the package logically, often by system, component, or weld number.
* Client Review: Submit the package to the client for review and approval. Be prepared to address any questions or comments promptly.
