Responsibilities:
• Reviews plans and specifications to become familiar with project scopes
• Ensures that corporate estimating procedures are followed
• Support and work with estimating/engineering/business development staff in the review of project plans, requirements and specifications
• Perform quantity take-offs and pricing of primarily federal construction projects
• Perform constructability reviews and develop draft project schedules as needed
• Support client presentations such as charrettes, design review meetings, and value engineering meetings
• Supervise junior level estimating staff or estimating subconsultants as needed.
• Good customer services skills – for both internal and external clients.
Qualifications
• Bachelors degree or equivalent from accredited college or university; engineering or quantity survey degree preferred
• Six to ten years’ experience in cost estimating for facilities/vertical construction or similar projects
• Certification such as CCT, CCP or CEP is preferred
• General knowledge of construction methods and practices and well-versed in cost estimating (MII/MCACES/PACES preferred) and construction scheduling experience preferred
• Working knowledge of U.S. Department of Defense or other federal agency cost estimating/engineering principles and best practices preferred
• Working knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles
• Strong individual contributor who is comfortable and effective in working with internal discipline teams and external client teams.
