Job Title: Remote Mechanical Estimator – Conveyor & Automation Projects

Location: Remote (U.S. based)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator with a strong background in conveyor and automation installation projects. This position is fully remote and will play a critical role in preparing competitive bids, reviewing specifications, and supporting project teams across a wide range of nationwide industrial and distribution center projects.

The ideal candidate has direct exposure to material handling systems, conveyor installations, and automation-driven environments, with the ability to break down scope, labor, and materials into accurate cost projections.

Responsibilities

Review bid documents, specifications, and drawings for mechanical/conveyor projects.

Develop detailed cost estimates for conveyor, mechanical, and automation installations.

Identify labor, equipment, subcontractor, and material requirements.

Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure accuracy and constructability.

Prepare take-offs, quantity surveys, and pricing models.

Assist in vendor/subcontractor pricing and negotiation.

Maintain estimating database, assumptions, and historical project cost records.

Provide support during pre-bid meetings, clarifications, and client presentations.

Qualifications

3+ years of mechanical estimating experience, preferably in conveyor or automation installation projects.

Strong knowledge of material handling systems, conveyor layouts, and industrial construction.

Proficiency with estimating software and MS Excel.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical/structural drawings and specifications.

Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.

Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Experience in project management or field installation (plus).
