Talascend is currently seeking Conveyor Maintenance Technicians for a contract opportunity with our client in Jersey City, New Jersey.

$24hr plus $140 a day per diem

6 plus month contract , MUST be able to work holidays!

Overview

The role involves supporting ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting for industrial conveyor and sorting systems, with a long-term opportunity expected for at least one year.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and inspections on belts, motors, chutes, and sorters
Monitor equipment performance (approximately 75% observation/monitoring)
Diagnose and repair issues with conveyor belts and drive motors
Conduct belt tracking and motor changes as needed
Ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently
Respond promptly to mechanical failures or irregularities

Qualifications

Previous experience with conveyor systems, sorters, or similar industrial equipment

Requirements

Ability to run and track belts, change motors, and inspect chutes/sorters
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Willingness to be proactive during downtime and monitor systems closely
Reliable and team-oriented work ethic
Ability to commit to working through the holidays

Shift

Holiday availability required; technicians must work through the holidays, including Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
