• Proven experience managing mechanical and electrical turnover through commissioning and performance testing
Job Summary:
NAES has a great opportunity for a Commissioning Manager for steam and power generation facility located in Alabama. The Commissioning Manager is responsible for managing, monitoring, and controlling all aspects of commissioning, startup, testing, client turnover, and initial operations to ensure project objectives and timelines are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead all on-site planning, coordination, and execution of startup and commissioning activities, ensuring safety, quality, and project milestones are achieved
• Manage system turnover from construction through pre-commissioning, commissioning, and performance testing, ensuring readiness prior to each phase
• Coordinate OEMs, vendors, and 3rd-party technical resources to support controls, mechanical, electrical, chemical cleaning, and steam blow activities
• Maintain the commissioning schedule, track progress, and communicate routine updates to project leadership and key stakeholders
• Oversee and provide direction to commissioning team members and subcontractors to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient work execution
• Support the development and delivery of training to facility O&M personnel to ensure seamless handover and operational readiness
Job Requirements:
• Excellent understanding of power plant and balance of plant (BOP) system design, operations, and maintenance
• Hands-on experience with natural gas fired package boilers, power boilers, steam turbines, boiler feedwater systems, fuel gas systems, chemical cleaning processes, medium and low voltage electrical systems, and associated auxiliary systems
• Strong knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Burner Management Systems (BMS), and Combustion Control Systems (CCS)
• Experience managing OEM and 3rd-party technical field advisors for startup, tuning, and commissioning activities
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements including General Industry, Lockout/Tagout, Arc Flash Hazard (NFPA 70E), and Fuel Gas Piping Systems (NFPA 56)
Education / Experience:
• 8+ years commissioning experience for steam, power generation, or large industrial facilities
• Proven success leading commissioning on multiple projects
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
