Job Brief:
The PSV Lead will work along side and lead the PSV Technicians in the testing, inspecting, and repairing all spring operated and pilot operated PRVs. The Lead will guide the crew in performing work according to manufacture manuals and critical dimension for repair as well as NBBIC and company VR manual.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Mentors and leads the PSV technicians in all aspects of PSV related work onsite and in the shop.
Performs field work and must demonstrate the proficient performance of all valve repair procedures.
Maintains knowledge of ASME, NBIC, and API codes.
Teaches/mentors apprentice-level employees to become leads.
Tests and repairs all spring-operated and pilot operated relief valves including AGCO, Consolidated, Crosby, Farris, Mercer, Taylor, etc.
Services API/ANSI/other valves per customer and valve specifications.
Maintains complete familiarity with testing/setting vapor and liquid valves under NBBIC and company VR manual.
Follows manufacture manuals and critical dimension for repair.
Order parts for upcoming work.
Leads activities, including safety training and safety meetings, for all staff.
Ensures paperwork/reports are complete and accurate; job tickets submitted for invoicing.
Participation/compliance with company safety programs & company policies.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
Associate degree or technical school degree preferred.
Minimum 1 year experience conducting valve repair, testing, reconditioning, or modification of relief valves.
Experience in a lead role preferred.
Proven ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Proven ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to read manufacture manuals and critical dimension for repair.
Understanding of VR & NBIC regulations.
Computer skills, including MS Office.
Standard First Aid/CPR with AED, OSHA 30, and Safeland, with preference for OSHA500.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test (required for safety-sensitive roles).
Completion of a criminal background check, with results assessed based on relevance to the position.
Verification of a clean driving record, as defined by Control Tech�s standards (e.g., no major violations, no more than 3 infractions in the past 5 years).
