Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Lead Structural Engineer opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN.

Position Overview:
Senior Structural Engineer to be Engineer of Record for design projects, leading design teams, developing design calculations using standard and advanced analysis (FEA) techniques, developing drawing, and developing specifications for structures made of steel, concrete, and masonry with emphasis on seismic design.

Job Duties:
• Perform Engineer of Record duties as assigned
• Perform design and full documentation of structural systems as assigned
• Interface directly with client counterpart, both virtually and on-site, to develop best solution for assigned projects
• Integrate with other design disciplines and project functions such as Mechanical, Electrical, Architecture, Contracts, Document Control, Project Controls, Construction etc.

Qualifications:
• B.S. in Structural/Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering school
• 10+ years of post-education experience
• A PE or SE license is required with ability to obtain a new state license as required
• Ability to estimate, schedule, and track assigned project for schedule and cost performance
• Knowledge of DOE, NRC, and nuclear standards including DOE-1020, NRC Regulatory framework, etc.
• Knowledge of DOE CD design process and commercial industry charrette process
• Understand how soil structure interaction and probabilistic seismic hazard analysis interface with structural design of a project
• Expert design knowledge of steel, concrete, and masonry with emphasis on seismic design
• Expert implementing multiple years of national code including IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE 7
• Ability to follow and implement established quality procedures and ensures that all work accomplished is procedurally compliant
• Experience working within NQA-1
• Expert in use of finite element software such as STAAD.pro (or equivalent)
• Expert using Microsoft Office software including Teams, Outlook, Project, Word, Excel, etc
• Expert in use of MathCAD (or equivalent)
• Reside within a commutable distance from our Oak Ridge, TN office

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent
• Competent using Revit, AutoCAD, or MicroStation software
• Field experience as Resident Engineer, Field Engineer or Quality Control Engineer
• DOE Q clearance
• DOE experience
• Experience conducting commercial grade dedications for NQA-1 programs
• NCEES Record

Other Job-Related Qualifications:
• Sole United States Citizenship
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Security clearance. Active clearance is a plus.
