Talascend is currently seeking a Piping Field Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Winnemucca, Nevada.

Overview

In this role, you will monitor and organize subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders’ involvement, through the coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff.

Responsibilities

Monitors and directs subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractors' management staff within the area of responsibility.
Planning reviews and monitors subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
Reviews and approves where necessary, subcontractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
Leads the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.
Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements.
Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.
Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
Coordinates with Design on constructability issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience
14-17 years of relevant work experience

Requirements

Experience with direct hire craft preferred
Contract management experience
Understanding of applicable work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures is preferred.
Experience in mining and metals
Familiarity with Standard Applications including ACONEX, TEAMWorks, Productivity System, PTR, eSub and other automation tools which are used on projects is an asset.
Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
Excellent communication and problem solving ability
