NCCCO-Certified Rigger – Large-Scale Steel Erection Project

We are seeking experienced NCCCO-certified Riggers to support a major structural steel erection project. This role is critical to safe and efficient crane operations, heavy picks, and complex rigging activities on a high-profile industrial/commercial site.

Position Overview

The Rigger will work closely with crane operators, ironworkers, and supervision to safely rig, guide, and control loads during steel erection operations, including large structural members, assemblies, and specialty picks.

Key Responsibilities

Perform advanced rigging for large structural steel components, including beams, columns, trusses, and assemblies

Inspect rigging gear (slings, shackles, spreader bars, hooks) prior to use

Determine proper rigging configurations, load weights, and center of gravity

Safely signal and communicate with crane operators using hand signals and radios

Assist with critical lifts and engineered picks

Maintain safe work zones and control loads using tag lines

Follow lift plans, site-specific safety rules, and OSHA standards

Work at heights and in all weather conditions typical of steel erection

Required Qualifications

NCCCO Rigger Certification (Level I or II required; Level II preferred)

Proven experience rigging on large-scale steel erection or heavy industrial projects

Strong knowledge of crane operations, load charts, and rigging best practices

Ability to read lift plans, drawings, and basic structural layouts

OSHA 10 required (OSHA 30 preferred)

Physically capable of heavy labor, climbing, and working at elevation

Reliable transportation and strong safety record

Preferred Experience

Structural steel erection on industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects

Experience working around crawler cranes, tower cranes, and large hydraulic cranes
