Job Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Traveling Industrial Spray-painter/Sandblaster and become a vital part of our industrial maintenance operations. In this energetic role, you will travel to various job sites to perform surface preparation, coating, and finishing tasks on large-scale equipment, structures, and industrial components. Your expertise in sandblasting, spray-painting, and materials handling will help ensure the durability and quality of industrial assets across multiple locations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in diverse environments while honing your skills in industrial painting, sandblasting, and fabrication processes. Per diem offered when required.
Duties
- Dry abrasive blasting (sandblasting) to NACE/SSPC standards on pipeline segments and fittings.
- Prepare surfaces by sandblasting using airless paint spraying equipment, ensuring optimal adhesion for coatings
- Apply protective coatings and paints using brushes, rollers, or airless spray systems to meet project specifications
- Conduct inspections with precision measuring instruments and use basic math skills to verify coating thicknesses and surface conditions
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, hand tools, and materials while adhering to safety protocols
- Collaborate with team members on lean manufacturing practices to optimize workflow and minimize waste during projects
- Troubleshoot equipment failures
- Clean work area and equipment after use
Requirements
- Experience with airless paint spraying systems and techniques required
- Experience with sandblasting equipment and techniques required
- Daily upkeep of blasting pots, compressors, and spray equipment.
- Familiarity with materials handling procedures within warehouse or manufacturing settings
- Basic math skills for measuring coating thicknesses and surface dimensions accurately
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and safety standards in industrial environments
- Able to stand for long periods of time, crawl, squat, and climb without tiring easily
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- A "self-motivated" team player
- Ability to travel to customer sites
- Current Veriforce OQ training is a plus
- Drug testing required
- 50+ hours per week (pending weather conditions)
