Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an Operations Support Specialist 3 opportunity in Los Alamos, NM, to support the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Per diem available for those who qualify.
Work Location: On-Site at LANL (TA55 – PF4)
Group/Organization: ALDPI (Pi-Proj/Early Installs)
Schedule: 4-12s, but also may be adjusted to align with subcontractor work schedules. (Potential On Call and OT)
Summary:
The Operations Support Specialist is responsible for oversight of over-arching mission deliverables for construction activities and operations, including the quality, accuracy, efficiency and successful completion of the deliverable. This includes being responsible for the safety and timely delivery of work in a Hazard Category 2 Security Classification 2 radiological facility while ensuring it is done in compliance with Laboratory policies and other regulatory requirements. Responsible for the organization of operations in the areas of construction and field controls.
Duties may include, but are not necessarily limited to:
· Ensures the timely completion of discrete technical activities or operational projects; adheres to technical requirements for the project and in coordination of the various groups within the Construction project and ensures that they are properly staffed and executed.
· Provides timely group support services to assist the various construction projects.
· Ensures consistent application of construction engineering standards and practices between jobs.
· Responsible for ensuring documentation is adequate and developing when it is not, installing and improving processes, managing budgets, providing oversight for other workers and subcontractors, and effectively communicating with stakeholders and customers, and ultimately being responsible for the end-to-end success of the set of deliverables.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technical discipline or combination of education and relevant experience without a degree.
· 15 or more years’ experience in the construction field and 5 years of experience supporting the DOE mission.
· Construction management experience in DOE or NRC nuclear radiological facility.
· Qualifications as an Electrical Field Work Supervisor, Field Work Supervisor and Responsible (Line) Manager are preferred.
· Prefer prior DOE experience in construction projects and experience in a work control setting with alignment to quality control, assurance and managing complex issues under NQA-1.
· Professional and safety certifications relevant to construction in the DOE and nuclear complex are required.

United States Citizenship
Must be able to obtain and maintain DOE Q Security Clearance.
