Fiber Optic Splicer – Nationwide Travel (Data Center Projects)
Full-Time | Extensive Travel | Onsite Field Work
($28-$32/hour based on experience)
We are seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Splicer to join our traveling data center deployment team. This role supports fiber installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting across Ohio, Kentucky, and Texas, with nationwide opportunities. Our crews work on mission-critical infrastructure with the opportunity for as many work hours as you want, extended deployments, and consistent travel assignments.
What You’ll Do
Perform fusion and mechanical splicing on single-mode and multi‑mode fiber.
Conduct OTDR, light source, and power meter testing to verify network integrity.
Read and interpret fiber network maps, splice diagrams, and construction prints.
Troubleshoot and repair:
Fiber cuts/damage
Splice enclosures
Patch panels
Network components
Maintain accurate:
Splice logs
Test results
Field documentation
Ensure all work meets industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
Communicate effectively with project managers, data center staff, and field teams.
Work in diverse environments: outdoors, manholes, pedestals, elevated lifts, and active construction zones.
Work Schedule & Deployment Details
Minimum of 10 deployments; stay as long as you’d like.
5–6 days/week, minimum 10-hour shifts
10-hour shifts = 1 day off/week
12-hour shifts = 2 days off/week
Unlimited overtime—work as many hours as you want.
Nationwide travel included.
Required Skills & Experience
Proficiency with:
Fusion splicers
OTDRs
Fiber testing equipment
Ability to understand and follow:
Construction plans
Splice documentation
Experience working in field construction environments and all weather conditions.
Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
