Position Summary
Right PM is seeking an experienced Finish Grade Motor Grader Operator to support site development operations. This position requires a highly skilled operator capable of performing precision finish grading without GPS automation, using manual controls and grade stakes.
The ideal candidate must be able to read grade stakes, interpret site plans, and produce accurate finished subgrades that meet engineering specifications and project tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
Operate a motor grader to perform fine grading and final subgrade preparation
Perform finish grading without GPS grade control systems
Read and interpret grade stakes, site plans, and blueprints
Establish proper slope, crown, drainage, and elevation tolerances
Coordinate with surveyors, superintendents, and site foremen
Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance checks
Maintain safe work practices in accordance with OSHA and site safety standards
Assist with other earthwork operations as needed
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of experience operating a motor grader
Proven experience performing finish grade without GPS systems
Strong ability to read grade stakes and construction plans
Experience in heavy civil, road building, or utility-scale solar projects preferred
Ability to maintain grade within tight tolerances
Strong attention to detail and production efficiency
Reliable transportation
Ability to work overtime as needed
Work Environment
The position requires the individual to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, crawl and work in awkward positions or confined spaces throughout the day. The position requires the unrestricted use of hands, arms, shoulders, upper/lower back, visual acuity, depth, and color perception. Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. Minimum age 18. Provide personal transportation to and from the jobsite. Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization. Must be able to pass pre-employment 10 panel drug screen.
