We are currently seeking experienced Marine Outside Machinists for immediate openings at a busy shipyard. Long-term work available for qualified candidates.

Pay Rates:
Travelers: $45.00/hr + $140/day per diem
Local Candidates: $35.00/hr (within 60 miles of Hampton, VA)

Job Description:
Marine Outside Machinists will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, alignment, and repair of shipboard mechanical systems. Work will be performed aboard vessels and within a shipyard environment.

Responsibilities:
Install, troubleshoot, and repair pumps, valves, compressors, and piping systems
Perform precision alignments on motors, pumps, and reduction gears
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators, calipers)
Remove and reinstall propulsion and auxiliary machinery
Work safely in confined spaces and at heights as required

Requirements:
Minimum 3–5 years of marine or shipyard machinist experience
Prior experience working on Navy or commercial vessels preferred
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
OSHA 10 (preferred but not required)
Must have own basic tools
Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed
