Job Overview

Job Title: Safety Coordinator (Solar)
Project Type: Utility-scale solar power plant construction, commissioning, and energization
Duration: Not Specified
Schedule: Ability to work holidays, weekends, and overtime

💰 Compensation & Logistics
Mobilization: Ability to travel 75% to 100% of the time, often on short notice, to project sites globally

🛠️ Technical Execution & Responsibilities
Electrical Safety & LOTO: Develop and oversee complex Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) programs tailored for solar energization; manage NFPA 70E requirements and arc flash safety.
Energization Oversight: Coordinate with engineers and commissioning teams to verify mechanical and electrical clearances before initial plant "turn-on".
Technical Lead: Act as the primary technical lead for high-risk activities involving electrical safety and hazardous energy control.
Site Inspections: Execute site safety audits to ensure adherence to OSHA 1926 standards and project-specific safety plans.
Risk Assessment: Identify potential hazards early through regular audits to foster proactive safety awareness.

🛡️ Safety, Quality & Documentation
Compliance Enforcement: Enforce immediate corrective actions for any non-compliance with federal, state, and industry regulations.
Incident Management: Act as primary incident commander for emergencies; lead thorough root-cause analyses to prevent recurrence.
Training: Lead on-site safety orientations and daily "Tailgate" meetings to communicate high-risk activities.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical activities including climbing ladders, working at elevations, and lifting 50 pounds in various weather conditions.
Documentation: Document all inspection findings and maintain compliance records.

📋 Requirements
Experience: 5+ years of direct safety management experience in utility-scale solar construction.
Certifications: OSHA 30 Construction, NFPA 70E expertise, and First Aid/CPR certification.
Tools: PV arrays, DC combiners, central inverters, HV substations, and LOTO systems
