RampUp Labor is assisting in building a brand-new Industrial LV team comprised of entry level to experienced techs along with Foreman/Lead(s). This is a unique opportunity to join a fresh team, shape its culture, and grow with it as they take on major industrial and commercial type projects around the Midwest Region.
What You'll Do:
Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including:
CAT6 cabling
Fiber optic cabling (single-mode & multi-mode)
Network switches, APs, and internet equipment
CCTV, access control, and security systems
Cable pathways, conduit, and related infrastructure
Perform conduit work (EMT, rigid, stainless, aluminum)
Read and interpret blueprints, site maps, and technical documentation
Conduct system testing and verification to ensure proper operation
Complete closeouts, work in MDF/IDF rooms, and document project progress
Work independently or as part of a team of 2-6 technicians
Provide regular updates to Project Management
Follow all safety requirements (Contractor, customer, OSHA)
Work Environment:
Technicians will work in a variety of industrial and commercial settings, including:
Cold storage warehouses
Food production facilities (e.g., Tyson)
Hot industrial plants
Active manufacturing environments
Some sites may involve strong odors, temperature extremes, or tight spaces. Incentives for challenging environments may be available depending on the project.
Schedule & Travel:
This is a road warrior position with heavy travel.
Typical work pattern: Friday-Monday, with weekends sometimes falling midweek
Must be open to day, night, weekend, and overtime shifts
Projects may last 6-8 weeks, several months, or up to a year
Team works to get technicians home regularly
Mileage and drive time to job sites are paid (hotel → site is not)
Personal vehicle required; fleet vehicles may be available later for long-term employees
Ideal Candidate Location
We are strategically building this team with Midwest-based technicians so travel home is easier during off days. Candidates living in AR/OK/IA/OH/NE/KS/MO/MN/IN and surrounding states are strongly preferred.
Required Qualifications
Experience as a Low Voltage Cable Technician in industrial or heavy commercial environments
Strong background in structured cabling installation & troubleshooting
Proficiency with CAT6, fiber optic cabling, and termination types
Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights of 40+ feet
Ability to operate boom lifts and scissor lifts
Comfortable working independently or with teams of 4-20
Basic telecom tools, PPE, and reliable transportation
Valid driver's license with clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in last 3 years)
Highly proficient with smartphones, computers, and email
Willingness to travel extensively and work variable shifts
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience installing conduit (aluminum, Rob Roy, stainless, EMT, rigid)
Certifications such as BICSI, NEC, TIA/EIA
Experience with CCTV, access control, and alarm systems
Ability to lead teams of 2-6 technicians (for Lead role)
